  • Flying Ninjas are Just Ninjas Falling Cool

You'd be amazed at how many machines and human opponents can be defeated with circling and strafing - it's like they don't realize you're just running in a damned circle. This convinces me that most AIs operate at a canine level - you are the tail they simply cannot catch. Ironically, they're the ones most resembling an animals hind-quarters. The Hind D is an awesome attack chopper, btw. One of my personal favorite uses of this "run around in a circle" technique involved fighting high level D&D monsters using lv1 characters.

A high lv monster, for you rookies, can kill a lv1 character (and probably all of his friends, his horse, and his house) in one hit. So what did I do to get around this? I ran in a circle. Now you might think that running in a circle while being chased by something that never gets tired would be stupid, and you'd be partly right, but it is how I ran in a circle that matters. You see, I had a party of lv1 characters with me and I acted as bait - the monster chases me while they fill its body with arrows until it collapses on the ground.

Moving on, I love playing as the Dark Eldar in Warhammer 40k: Soulstorm. The Dark Eldar are pretty much a group of sadistic space elves that use the souls of the dead to power their further acquisition of slaves/resources. I've found their units to have the most entertainment value and I like the fast pace of their units. Plus they have a floaty-boat that shoots a death-ray - awesome. But I like most of the armies in 40k and the Dark Eldar are just my current preference.

I took care of my taxes today - I should be receiving most of them back from the government. It was good to see my dad. Regrettably, my Spring Break is nearly over. I've been considering picking my pen back up and returning to writing - but my mind feels different. I seem to be rebeling against the maturing of my mind rather than letting that feed into my characters. I cannot return to the me that dreamed those things so chasing those feelings would yield a hollow shell. If my writing is to retain an edge and remain relatable I'll have to make sure it tags along with me as I journey through life. If my writing continues to feed off of my life I must make sure that what it drinks is fresh - the old me is a dead thing.

You bleed for your passionate pursuits and for your foolish mistakes - and little differentiates the two.

    If I become a father I will probably be a little something like...THIS http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=8a25c392134976fa01134a830e52003e

  • i want an awesome attack chopper! And a drink. pouring a round. Slainte!

  • I like that line.  Our passionate pursuits and foolish mistakes.  Describes my life to a tee.

    Always good to have "money-back-taxes"

  • @qccan - someday I will be awesome. And in my awesomeness I will soak rodents in liquor so that you may eat and drink at once. You will be the happiest and most innebriated snake ever. Man and snake will finally come to terms over liquored-up rats.

  • @JJ_Ames - it really sucks when you realize a passionate pursuit was a foolish mistake - I've been there once or twice. Live and learn.

  • JJ for Pres!

  • I almost exploded from the nerdiness.

But that circle trick is one I always used in tag back in my elementary days.
