Israel - worse than Iran or N. Korea?
A pundit asked an interesting question last night: what's the difference? N. Korea sinks a S. Korean ship, killing 48, and the world shrugs. Israel gives the blockade runners every chance to bring aid peaceful and then is attacked and most of the world swiftly condemns ISRAEL - Israel killed 9 people in defense.
What is the difference? Why does the world give Kim Jong a pass and immediately jump on Israel even though there's video evidence that the Israelis were defending themselves. Kim Jong bushwacks his neighbor and besides S. Korea, nobody seems that angry. A little finger wagging but not much else.
N. Korea is protected by China; Israel has no true friends. The United States has abandoned them in everything but name. Israel is no angel but it deserves better that it's getting.
The unfair treatment of Israel infuriates me. There are too many pundits siding with the blockade runners on grounds that dismiss all evidence and logic. It's clear that their minds are made up.
It really bums me out that our southern coast are getting destroyed. I hate BP but I smell government cheese on the air. BP has certainly been negligent but giving the government control is only going to put a different, corrupt and stupid group of people in charge. Damned if we do, damned if we don't - how appropriate our coast is growing blacker and flammable!
News rumors suggest that Iran is making two nukes at once - care to guess what two countries it hates most? If you guessed the U.S. and Israel then you're smarter than Obama and Team. They're tougher on BP than on N. Korea or Iran.
All of this barely touches on the ridiculous, the stupid, and the wrong floating around the news and elsewhere. I don't like focusing on the negative but I hate injustice and I will point it out so we can zombie-mob it to death. Love always, mercy for those who'll take it, and justice to protect the proceeding!

I think it is pure lunacy to say Israel is worse than Iran or North Korea... Yet the American media does just that
Yeah the whole Situation with the Floatillas really pissed me off to.
Shame on the Humanitarian aid Groups essentially putting innocent people into danger
But Israel really Fucked themselves here in Handling this Situation, although it was mainly
Fault and Stupidity of their Current Prime Minister who ordered the Attack despite
Internal Protests (The Timing and everything was Just STUPID)
They could have very Easily disabled the ships and let them float aimlessly
And towed them to port where they could be dealt with safely, I mean
Dropping in by Helicopter to the Middle of a Ship filled with Major News Reporters?
Fuck Both Sides, I Think they're Both Idiots.
You are right on the money. I find it fascinating that Hyper-Islamic Iran and atheist North Korea are so close. This only tells me that religion is a thing of convenience for a significant number of the world's politicians, and their followers.
Israel is also mis-run by BB and the religious zealots-some of whom are even Holocaust deniers. Many Israelis want only to inspect the ships going into Gaza, and not throw a full-blown assault on the flotillas.
everytime a boat is sent in , it has the provocation factor.
where is there anyone neutral on the subject of the west bank/palestine/Israel?
savage did an interesting clip I saw on youtube the other night on this...My bullshit filter is so clogged on middle eastern affairs I do not try to do analysis.
@kirbym - dropping troops armed primarily with paintball guns into a sea of angry guys with pipes was very stupid. Launching that assault in international waters and muddying who the guilty party is was very, very stupid. I sympathize with Israel's right to defend itself but they're really mucked it up.
@cyberbear - the enemy of my enemy is my friend. If we were all toast Iran and N. Korea would turn on each other but for now it serves their interests to be buddies.
@ProvokingThought - yeah, I'm pretty sure there aren't any neutral parties on this issue. I'd say I'm pro-Israel with some reservations. They are NOT pro-U.S. - they're our friends because they need us. They treat Christians and Muslims who have lived in that area for centuries as second-class citizens if not enemies. If you're not a Jew, you're not their concern. Despite the typical Christian support of Israel, Israel would not return the favor if they weren't in danger. On the other hand, I'm even less fond of the forces alligned against Israel.
I don't see good guys in this - I only try to assess which will stab me in the back first.
well...it was a lack of laws and regulations that caused the problem. BP's management is already clearly corrupt and greedy, as they blew off extra, recommended safety precautions because they were in a rush and they could get away with it, legally. in fact, they went above and beyond the requirements as it is. the problem is that the government, with what little control it did have, poorly regulated a situation and project that it knew nothing about, and consequently, there is now a complete lack of accountability (other than BP's stock dropping like justin bieber singles).
