A war with Mexico?

A border patrol agent opened fire on a group of teens who had been chased from the U.S. side of the Mexican border as they pelted him with stones - a 15 yr old boy was killed. Border patrol agents are authorized to fire upon stone throwers. Mexican border agents aimed their rifles at the border patrol agent. Mexico is calling for the extradition of that agent.
If the United States government does anything other than flip Mexico the bird I'm going to pissed. We're not allowed to enforce our laws or protect ourselves? You're going to attack our law enforcement agents with law breakers standing in front of you throwing stones? Mexico is incapable of keeping its own house in order but it's telling us how to run ours?
What really bothers me is that their agents threatened ours. Really, Mexico? You can't handle your drug lords but you're going to threaten the largest and best trained military in the world? Of course you are. Because the whole world recognizes that we're not monsters even as they make speeches condemning us as the same. Our leaders might not always be the best but the American people aren't interested in conflict. Terrorists and belligerent minor nations bank on us not having the stomach for a fight.
So Mexico will puff out its chest and act macho. If it has half a brain it'll stick with posturing. Nobody wants our border to turn into a duplicate of N. and S. Korea's. It won't be the United States who feels a loss if things turn nasty.
Moving on, Iran does something entirely unsurprising - they laughed at U.N. sanctions and continued working on nukes! President Obama and the U.N. have done an amazing job assuring President Ihazacrazyjob that we aren't going to do anything but whine impotently. Iran will have to nuke or invade a country before anything will be done...of course after they've nuked somebody it's a bit too late.
Meanwhile, Turkey and Morocco grow increasingly militant. The world is a lovely place full of maniacs who want to kill you! Hugs for everyone!
You can't hug your children with nuclear arms - but you sure as hell can nuke them till they grow some extras!

I had caught part of that but didn't know what was going on. Disgusting.

I think we're gearing up for World war III. Except, I doubt that we have the financial stability to survive as a nation if we are fighting on not only 2 fronts, but 3. Afghanistan, Iraq, the threat of N.Korea and the increasing hostility coming from mexico, coupled with our current economic crisis, our dependence on oil that is washing up on our shores... and a two party system that is hell bent on ripping us a part from the inside... .... .. what chance do we have really?
If anything Mexico will rely on their mafia and gangs to carry out the war and it will be like the Pancho Villa attacks of old.
@godfatherofgreenbay - but if the gangs attack the U.S. who will buy their drugs?
@TheGiantSlayer - a pretty good chance if the whole world erupts in a blood frenzy. China and Russia are the only ones with the means to truly fight us and neither would have much to gain...Although, "sense" usually isn't considered when wars are entered. I agree that we're getting dangerously close to sparking a third world war. Sooner or later Iran will nuke somebody and then all bets are off.
@dropsofjupiterihh - it's crazy. Their economy is made up of drug trade (with the U.S., lolz) and legal trade (mostly with the U.S., again) so they're insane to be making such a big deal of this. They seem to bought into our politics-born myth that we hate Mexicans.
@UR_MUSE - agreed.
Addicts...teenagers trying to be non-conformist and rebellious...the U.S. government?
The War Against Terror (TWAT) was also supposed to help the war on drugs in that we are destroying opium fields in Afghanistan that belong to Al Qaeda but I notice that it really hasn't put a dent in drug use.
@JJ_Ames - Well they don't have to worry about taking a wrong step, our government certainly won't hold them accountable.
@dropsofjupiterihh - lolz - terrible and true.
@godfatherofgreenbay - as long as there's a demand there will be a supply from somewhere. Most drugs are insanely easy to manufacture and they fetch amazing prices.
