  • Cleanup on aisle EVERYWHERE

BP and the Feds are doing a great job. I’d compare their efforts to a riding mower running a daycare.

On day 3 of the spill the Dutch offered to let us use the ships they have for taking oil out of water – both BP AND the Feds turned them down. Several companies with boom, ships for deploying boom, and nontoxic methods of oil removal contacted BP and the Feds and offered help – they were all turned down. People living along the affected coastlines have been banned from aiding in the cleanup.

What is the purpose of turning down aid? Are we really worried about the Dutch? Why blanket the gulf in toxins when hair and hay have been shown to sop up the oil while leaving the water behind?

Either BP and the Feds are incompetent morons or they’re purposefully allowing the disaster to continue.

I smell something fishy and it isn’t just all the dead wild life.

Meanwhile, Congress kills the bill to limit the EPA’s ability to circumvent Congress. Non-elected officials with the power to make laws that Congress doesn’t get to look at and approve – that sounds Constitutional!

Mr. President, please start the ass-kicking in your own cabinet, in your own party, and then move onto correcting any Republican corruption you can find. Please be the President you promised to be. Clean house – the American people WILL back you! Your poor poll numbers are derived from their sense that you knowingly ignore or approve of corrupt and two-faced officials.

You can be Carter 2.0 or you can change directions and become a President without party and without pity for fools who would fleece their country and strip their freedoms.

Be HONEST – Abraham Lincoln isn’t remembered for his pretty face!

  • Congress kills the bill to limit the EPA’s ability to circumvent Congress.

I had to read that a good two or three times because I honestly didn’t understand… I have become so cynical on the workings of congress that I never actually believed that they would do something right. This is bitter sweet for me.

  • @TheGiantSlayer - see, the bill they killed is what would STOP the EPA from circumventing Congress. So technically now we’ve got an agency that legally and legislatively answers to no one. Pretty sure Congress scrweed up on this one and the purpose, in my opinion, is to strong-arm climate change bills into law. If the Republicans block the Dems then the EPA will pass a tougher law – blackmail is a go!

  • @JJ_Ames -

or… so now the bitter sweetness is from actually having read it right the first few times. I’ve heard it said that once the EPA gains the control (that they now have) They can regulate anything that produces gasses. I would like to believe that kind of power would be used to help actually clean up the environment… … I really really would like to believe that… I wish I could believe that.

  • Its like arguing over what party gets to load the weapon that we shoot ourselves in the face with. IT really doesn’t matter who says what and who does what because in all actuality, what it really boils down to… is us… getting screwed. There is no two party system…

I’d say its the Illuminati if it weren’t for the fact that I would sound crazy for saying so.

  • @TheGiantSlayer - the only reason you’d be crazy is because the Illuminati would do a better job. Maybe Congress is actually a long running experiment on how much damage can be done to the human mind before someone does something impeachable.

  • @JJ_Ames -

the world is in position for a unified government… … … which makes me think about how long Israel will last in that world.

  • @TheGiantSlayer -

You only sound crazy because it’s so absurd to imagine elitists who want a one world government. Imagine that! *sighs* I’ll stand behind you with my tin foil hat on. We can both sound crazy. It’s a better alternative to having my head buried in the left right charade of nonsense

  • @TheGiantSlayer - delightfully, even if we tried for a unified government people would rebel against it. “Our” leaders might want it but the average Joe still loves his nation and prefers it to all others. In some sense human selfishness and idealogical divides protect us from a key element of Revelation coming to pass. It will take a serious, global crisis and a “savior” before the various parts of the world ignores its hatred for the others.

First they came for the Jews.

  • @ShamelesslyRed - it’s only paranoia if they’re not actually out to get us, right?

  • Pitchfork and torch time

  • It makes me sick knowing what happens next if they don’t get off their shiny hineys…this is not a local disaster…it is a world disaster…GET HELP NOW!

  • @JJ_Ames -

You know…6 years ago, I was blissfully ignorant. I miss those days. Btw, the only logical answer to the state of malfunction over this spill–is that they (the Feds) are willfully allowing it to get worse. Or–they are flatly incompetent. Either way, the idea that Obama leads this nation day after day is a scary thought. From his lack of experience, to the individuals he has running the show–yeah, pretty frightening

  • @JJ_Ames -

First they came for the jews

now I hope and I pray that I become angry to stand up long before there is no one left to stand up when they come for me.

  • @ShamelesslyRed - just imagine if somehow he died – BIDEN. Presiden Biden…it could get worse! President Pelosi? I might flee to Canada.

  • @Fididdle - there will be plenty we can use for tarring them. I guess we can feather them with sand. Not traditional but convinient.

  • @slinky - I wouldn’t describe myself as an environmentalist but blatant and pointless waste and damage to the environment is disgusting.
